The Chordette Gem transfers music from your Bluethooth enabled cell phone, PDA or personal computer to an existing hifi system with very high sound quality and is the first in a more affordable range of Chordette products from British company Chord Electronics. Cell phones are increasingly being used as portable music players and can now house a sizable music collection.

Wireless systems, to be as convenient as a CD, need to be easy to operate and provide a reliably stable data stream. High quality sound can only be obtained if the digital-to-analog conversion is done right since it is the foundation upon which every else follows. The Chordette Gem Bluetooth Digital audio player fully meets both of these requirements with a range of up to 30 metres. By using the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile A2DP found in many newer phones, much higher sound quality is possible than the narrow band bluetooth audio used in handsfree HSF and HSP headset profiles. Most bluetooth receivers immediately process the low quality regular mono bluetooth audio signal with a low quality DAC to convert into a low quality analog signal. The Chordette Gem however taps directly into the high bit rate A2DP bluetooth data stream using Chord's proprietory Bluetooth receiver technology and passes it on to a very high quality 24-bit DAC for a much better sound. Chord put a lot of research into how to decode the A2DP signal in a totally reliable drop-out free manner implemented in a unique decoding chip.
Analog RCA outputs connect the Gem to a pre-amp or receiver in your hifi system.

Operation is really a cinch - simply use to phone to search for any Bluetooth device, select the Gem, pair-up, and you are all set.

The beautifully built nifty retro-styled Chordette Gem will enable you to hear uncompressed full resolution WAV files from your phone that in effect becomes a wireless remote music source. No wires, no discs, but great sound.
